You have to respect your parent,your culture. Someday, your audiences will be tired and they will find out about your disrespect with even your family/country. Have you seen any comedian did the same thing like you? What do you think if someone show some languages disrespect their own parent and culture.

I do not judge people. I only tried to explain that, if he wants to be a good comedian he doesn't needs to use the material from his parent, his language and his country. What happen if somebody laughing at your parent, your language and your country?

yhou are... so lost. The point of stand up... and what makes it FUNNY is the truth. Exaggerate the truth and there you go. you have stand up. Plus, making fun of things, are the most easiest way to make people laug.

He's NOT disrespecting his culture or anything of the sort. It's funny and that's the point. I believe that he really loves his Vietnamese background, but he wants to make people laugh too.
I'm Vietnamese and I love his jokes because they're SO true. I don't think he's making fun of us at all.

thats how the comics work they have different tours and use the same joke throughout the tour. Dat Phan is a new comic so its his first real tour so he doesnt really have other stuff yet. try checking out margarette cho how she has all those diffrent tours like "im the one that i like" and all that. thats how comics work

he is funny cause he talks chinky? i don't get the humor. margaret cho makes fun on her race and her mother but does it much funnier and does comedy with a point of view. dat fan is so not funny unless you think people talking chinky is funny.

Anyone who's seen more than the intro to his Comedy Channel Presents special knows that he's very proud of his heritage and personally i think that it's pretty much impossible to be racist towards the race you're apart of o.o;;. It'd be like a black person joining the Ku Klux Klan or a Jewish person striving to be a neo-nazi, it just doesn't make since.
