Video Description:
SMB64Productions, and Gametrailers, are really excited about the new up-coming sports game, known as Mario Super Sluggers. From minigames, to challenges, this game is way more improved than "Mario Superstar Baseball", its prequel.

Commentator:
"The Mushroom Kingdom goes hardball once again, in Mario Super Sluggers. The sequel to 2005's Mario Superstars Baseball for the Gamecube. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to stimulate the basic mechanics of batting, pitching, fielding, and base-running. You touch the bases with the final Japanese
version. Super Sluggers features the return of Challenge mode, where recruiting players to your team has nothing to do with flashing hotels and V.I.P treatment. Mario has to solve puzzles, take down adversaries, and complete missions to convince players to join the squad. With stadium themes raging
from dense jungles inspired by Donkey Kong, to the fiery volcanoes of Bowser's Castle, Super Sluggers provides exotic settings for America's pastime. If you want to skip the linking recruitment process, Exhibition mode has immediate access to the standard baseball game. Additionally, the rosters lim
ited with over 40 different characters from Mario's domain are eventually available. You can find junior skills at training mode, or slug it out at Home Run Derby, or other minigames, and play with up to 3 other players in Toy Mode; with the baseball field literally becomes a makeshift board game. S
uper Sluggers utilizes motion controls for the bolt of the gameplay, though, a traditional control set is present, either holding the Wii Remote sideways. Players flick the Wii Remote to throw or swing and field the ball using the analog stick, or D-Pad. While running the bases, tapping A will advan
ce the runners, while using the B-trigger will force them to retreat. Holding down one of the various buttons allows for special pitches, such as change-ups, curves or fastballs, meaning to put a little after spin on each toss. The Captains of each team use star skills to use special pitches like Ma
rio's fireball, or Luigi's tornado. With the balls in play, the batter can utilize items, such as banana peels, or green shells to ford a fielder's attempts to play the ball, and each stadium is riddled, with natural distasters and booby traps. Despite the Wii Remote being available, Mario Super Slu
ggers is shaping up to be a lot like it's predescessor; online play would have been nice, but there aren't a lot of kid baseball options these days, so keep an eye out for our view of this rare occurance, later this month."
