I guess you don't know what is happening in the cars industry now... My last comment was based on facts... GT-R is faster than M6 ( check accelerations time for both rides)... Also, Japanese cars have more quality than German cars (check specialist websites like J.D.Power)... While your last comment was based on your feelings... You said German cars are the best because you like German cars...

I love Japanese cars, really I do, but the Germans are THE BEST! They are the benchmark that the Japanese copy, along with everyone else. The M3 and M5 are in their own class. The GT-R is an amazing car, truly amazing, but the 911 turbo is the benchmark. The Japanese are constantly targeting the S-class, E-class, 3, 5, 7, series, etc...

they don't look like German cars...M3
M5 are great cars no doubt about it but the Japanese are trying now to enter this market... Lexus has done a good job with the IS-F... It's the 1st time that Lexus tries to enter that market
it's not doing bad at all... There are rumors that a GS-F will be introduced as well... GT-R is very similar to 911 turbo in terms of handling
acceleration according to edmunds with a very lower price...

Well, if we want to talk about quality lets look at the R35 Skyline. So, I've been reading that if you use the R35 to its abilities, like turning traction control off to launch the car from a dig, you may end up voiding your warranty. How can Nissan do this? Oh, they have a black box data recorder so they can prove you've been racing. Can you say $20K for a new transmission? What a load of garbage. If I pay $80K+ for a performance car, I'd actually like to be able to use it.

I don't know whether what you said is true or not about GT-R gearbox thing but in general, Japanese cars out perform German, American, French, Italian, Korean, etc in quality
dependability... Anywayz, where did ya read about the GT-R Gearbox warranty issue?! Is it in Nissan website?! Because if it is true, then Nissan are really in trouble...

I've read about the R35 problem from a multitude of places. I was actually kind of happy to hear of this problem because it confirmed my reasons for disliking the R35 GT-R so much.

I don't why you are happy... If this problem was not there, then Porsche and the other supercars companies will be forced either to build a car that's better than the GT-R or reduce their cars' prices... So at the end of the day, we, the customers, will be the winners... But because of this problem, these companies won't consider the GT-R as a big threat to them... So, they won't change their prices... Eventually, we are the losers :-(...

I own a 2003 M3 smg, and I have a 1994 acura Integra and us to have a 94 integra gsr aswell. ill tell you what about the M3 it is one amazing vehicle and you could beat it like crazy and it won't give you a problem. It is the same as for all my acuras, the only big difference I have notice is reliability, since I have owned my Acuras I have never had any issues it never left me stranded. My M however as of Oct 31 it left me stranded, now the M is on its way out and a Jap car is on its way in!

Well, I'm not happy per se about the GT-R's problems. But when I heard Nissan's plans for the R35 I pretty much disliked it from the get go. However, I feel that the GT-R is in a separate class to begin with for a few reasons. Unlike a 911 GT3 or BMW M3, the R35 will likely never be used as a race car. I don't think companies like BMW or Porsche have any interest in competing with the GT-R. I don't think their is a customer base for that kind of car for those companies to begin with.

accleerates great, so why not?!?... Maybe Porsche, BMW, etc don't have the interst to compete with Nissan GT-R now but they will forced to do so in the future... BMW, Mercedes-Benz
Audi were not interested in competing with Toyota in the 80s... But since the introduction of Lexus, these companies are forced to compete with Lexus whether they like it or not because Lexus is taking their market share...

The GT-R won't be used as a race car because it is AWD. Unless it can be modified for RWD I don't think it would be allowed to race under most production class rules. I will agree that the introduction of companies in North American like Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura has taken a market share away from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. The one thing about each of these companies is they specialize in what they build based on their customer base. Competition is a good thing from that perspective.
