Sadly Dave Allen, born David Tynan O'Mahoney died March 10. 2005.
With his own closing words at the end of his shows:

Dave Allen was my favourite comedian, he actually won an award for a tv play he performed in.The word genius is used too often today,but he definitely was one.Groundbreaking stuff that has stood the test of time

Me too. Like other people who tend to get overlooked by the conventional media, his memory is being kept alive by Youtube. I saw a comment elsewhere that he should be more sorely missed than he is - but those of us who miss him, miss him really badly.
