I agree, I sometimes wonder how he went from the 70's peace & love Cat Stevens to the Koran carrying Yusuf Islam of today, it doesn't make any sense. It's like he wanted a new religion or something, he must wrote down all the different religions on little stripes of paper & picked one random out of a top hat & chose that as his new religion. I know the Bible is very violent in parts, but there are parts where it's uplifting too, but why the Koran though, I can't find anything redeeming in it?

Islam doesnt advocate violence, intolerance, or hatred. That's not to say that Muslims don't have issues. just as w/ any faith the doctrines can be twisted to justify horrible things (i.e. how Christianity was used to justify the crusades,trans-Atlantic slave trade,etc).Conversely there is profound beauty in almost all faiths. Learn for urself the true beauty of Islam as Cat Stevens has and refrain spreading the very things u criticize Islam for making bigoted statements: hatred and intolerance.

I ain't saying there aren't beautiful things in Islam, specifically it's offshoot Sufism (which I think is intellectual.) But you can't find anything noble about the Koran, it's like someone cut & paste all the bad parts of the Bible together (Deuteronomy, Leviticus, etc,) & then made it more rambling & nonsensical. It's just how it is, & if there are moderate Muslims that just want to live peacefully, good, but it's not going to change my opinion on the Koran, it's as bad a Mein Kampf.
