You got that right. He can play all the traditional stuff as fast as anyone wants it to be, and then he has an added muscial sense that nobody else has. He can take dobro and fit it in anyhing - and tastefully. His live show is the best show that I've ever seen from ANY musician.

Little follow up... Saw Jerry, Sam Bush, and Edgar Meyer Friday nite. If you get the chance, YOU MUST SEE THIS SHOW!!! SUPERB! Afterwords met MR. Douglas, such a gentleman, He started to give me a thumb pick but didnt have one... As I started to walk off he said to me... "Good Luck on your recording session next weekend!" How slick is that??? To have Jerry Douglas wish you good luck on a recording session!!! Go see this gentleman and buy his records!!!
