I always loved Red. I can remember his show in the late 50's when I was very young. He ended every show with "Good night, and may God bless." He always seemed like a sweet man.

Wow I sure would be proud too to have an unclellike him. U're lucky Also if you don't mind meto say, Nthose days we were lucky enough to see him on CBC Sunday nights Ed Sullivan anyway since the only english (i livein Que.city then, Surely this great man + other fine artists were found out but never like Him /in my heart cause always clean really funny humour, The faces the ,(ALL) I have a friend who has a painting of him, I'm jealous lol you know the clowns he used to paint

I love Red Skelton. I'm lucky enough to say i got to stand on the porch of the house he was born in. Vincennes, Indiana is one amazing place for a Red Skelton fanatic like myself

Hey, I'm from Vincennes! My grandpa knew him as a kid. Red would do magic tricks, stunts
clown around on streetcorners for money. We used to have a huge old house in the middle of town that was an orphanage. Red stayed there a while when he was a kid. When he hit the big time, he would send toys
clothes for all the kids every Christmas until the orphanage shut down in the '70s. He would always mention Vincennes on talk shows. It was thrilling to hear your hometown's name on TV! LOL!

My uncle was head bartender at The Captain's Table in LA for many years and used to tell stories about Red Skelton coming in occasionally for a drink. Someone would recognize him and he'd start talking and end up doing an impromptu half-hour of really funny material for the patrons. Uncle Nobe said that he was one of the nicest men in Hollywood.

Oh I love Red Skelton! He's absolutely wonderful, even in an game show like this - where he doesn't have to use his usual material. I wish he could know that there are other people my age (I'm 23 years old) and even younger, who still love him and think fondly of him. He is sorely missed.

Most people your age never heard of him, so it's a delight that he's got "younger" fans! Red had his own TV show for 20 years, and he was a comic genius who had lots of fans!

Yes, I think its a shame that most other people my age prefer people who love to talk crudely and speak approvingly of corrupt subjects and the like. I think most would consider Red's humor very old fashioned or not funny enough for their "corrupted" palette. Sadly. But I'd rather watch Red Skelton than most other modern performers - although granted there has been a couple of his early jokes of his that I didn't think were funny, but mostly his jokes are hilarious.

He had good writers also -- even Johnny Carson got his start by writing for Red -- one night Red broke his leg or something, and Johnny was called to host the show -- and Johnny got his first national exposure. You sound like a very intelligent young lady, keep in touch!
