No it wouldn't, none of those bands can sing anywhere close to michael jackson, stevie wonder, ray charles, diana ross, dionne warwick, lionel richie or pretty much everyone on this track with less than a handful of exceptions.

Well, perhaps becouse there are other great artists there, Steve Perry, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan...dont get me wrong, im a huge Jackson and Richie fan but as for singing, Ray Charles vs Chris Martin? Im not saying they arnt great artists, songwriters...just saying as for singers...they arnt better than Coldplay or Pearl Jam, just different...
But maybe you only like their tone...

I love Coldplay, not a huge fan of pearl jam but they have their moments. The point I was trying to make is that none of the bands mentioned come anywhere close to the singing talent on display in this video. They all might be great musicians or artists, but they're not ever going to touch the majority of singers on here vocally. I thought Dylan sounded average on here, Springsteen and Perry were very good though. It wasn't a conscious decision to only include the black singers.
