Amazing Grace using throat singing overtones

Uploaded by: yuichituba
Video Description:
(Correction from the video): doing a little overtone singing on the hymn "Amazing Grace" (not Tuvan). For those of you that are much experienced I appreciate your comments and your thoughts. Just to let people know, I am intentionally doing the more Western approach by not making my voice throaty like the authentic Tuvan/Mongolian style. I am a classical vocalist so I prefer not to produce nodules.

i accidentally found out how this was done one day alone in my house. I was making strange noises out of boredom, and realized it started sounding like throat singing. My dad was interested in that kind of music and played it a lot when i was young. I have been getting better.

this isn't throat singing. There is a distinction. Throat singing is a growl, essentially, where the sound in shaped. This is sound pushed out of the throat and into the nasal passage. Well, it's a little more complicated, but throat singing's a little different
