i can respect rap as an ART form...but not so much as a form of MUSIC. there is definitely LYRICAL creartivity in rap, but not very much MUSICAL creativity. rappers like kanye, 50, nas, and jay-z.....i consider them to be "artists" rather than "musicians". steely dan is a collection of "music

personally Fagan was fuck up to treat a youth like that, the dan should have appreciated the fact that the rappers were introducing their music to a whole new generation and audience I've love the dan forever but still think fagan was wrong (sure he sampled stuff from black jazz artist)

I have to agree with you. I enjoy the creative ways they can sample music and make it something new and intresting to listen to at times. Such as the song a few years back from the Musical 'Annie' "Hard Knock Life". I thought that was sampling genius even if you don't like rap you have to give kudos for the ingenuity. I do get a chuckle at times when there are older songs that are redone and the kids think its new. Like there wasn't any music before 1990.

I always loved this song, it brings back so many memories, when I was growing up. This song was soooo popular in my neighborhood, due to the fac t my my older couins and family, would smoke trees and hand dance on this one (if you are from clevland you know what I am talking about!) it was so much fun, trying to sing along on this tune, while watching everybody really enjoying this one.
