If you really want to go back, you then have to agree that Fela was the best of them all, in term of prestige and audience. His music was being studied at Julliard and Harvard. Then you would have to consider Ali Farka Toure, for his contributions to the Blues. But hey, JP Piana and Verasson have to go back together and let wenge shine anew!

No, not that I remember. Werrason was a member of Wengue Musica with JP-Mpiana. There was a dispute over leadership and the group split. JP-Mpiana went solo and so did Werrason. Werrason still works with Wengue tough...
