Letterman has a history of "spats."
He had a misunderstanding w/Cher (which was cleared up, and now they're friends, but she called him an "asshole").... Oprah wouldn't come on for a very long time.... I don't think his humor translates well to a lot of people. When he think he's being cute, he's really offensive to the people who
are the butt of it. Remember he also bombed at the Oscars. I love Letterman but his humor isn't exactly classy. :-)
