On C-SPAN's BookTV, Jonah Goldberg just really jumps the shark on this one. He is desperate to equate any type of populist movement to fascism and seems to forget what the definition of fascism even is. The man just earned an A in the rewriting of history grade. I'm sure Ann Coulter is very proud of him. And those jumbo-trons he's fear mongering about....hate to tell you but we've got them now. They're called Fox News.

Conservatives don't want companies to run the government. They want the companies to run themselves with out government intervention. Every sector of the market that the government interferes with turns to shit. A couple of classic examples include the automobile industry in the U.S. and the agricultural sector of the USSR. Liberals are ruled by emotion not reality. You are born alone and die alone, you do not need the government to run your life or business. Less government more freedom.

Goldbergs Orwellian fantasy is repugnant as it ignores the twin driving force of Hitlers Reich; racism and the adoration of and identification with the military. Anyone who has paid even scant atention to American politics since WWII well knows that liberals extremely distrust the military [industrial complex] and have been on the front lines re ending segregation and racism.
