Thanks for the video. I followed the tutorial and could not connect. I am using iPhone version 1.1.4. Is it possible that there exists a different password for user root?

The password is alpine, I typed it wrong in the vid, as you can see in the description.
If that didn't help: what kind of error do you get?

Thanks for the reply. I retried with this password and the message I get are: "Searching for host..." "Connecting to host..." and then a new message box with "Server unexpectedly closed network connection".

Did you entered the IP address from the Iphone, see it at Settings > Wi-Fi > Press the blue arrow behind your connection > Enter IP address in WinSCP
If you already entered the right IP address double check if your SSH on your IPhone is enabled by downloading BossPrefs from the Installer.

If you did this all right try pinging to your IPhone by going (on your computer) to Start > Run > Type CMD in the box > Then in the black screen type "ping [IP address here]" without the "" and replace IP address here by the IP address of your IPhone.

Thanks for your help. When trying to install BossPrefs I am getting the error "Main script execution failed!". I found some youtube tutorials about this and they all use winscp/putty to resolve it, so it seems like a vicious cycle. However, I noticed that from my PC (in command prompt) I do not have the commands ping and ipconfig, so it might be a local area network related problem. I will try it some other time from a different PC on the same LAN.

I solved the ping problem, and I am getting replies when doing a ping to my iPhone's IP addresss. However, I still cannot connect with WinSCP, I am still getting the same errors as above.

I had this error too, yesterday. This is what i did:
On your IPhone go to:
Settings > Wi-Fi > Press the blue arrow
- This is where i had 3 DNS Ip's. I removed the second and third IP.
That worked for me, if it's still not working, try asking it on a forum like ipodtouchfans or something like that... Hop it works!!
