you may have heard those demos I speak of like Money for example , not saying you haven't but man that stuff sounds rough until Gilmour got a hold of it , played all over it and then sang it . The Waters songs on Wall for example that Waters sings are great but their real weird ya know . He doesn't really sing either . God forbid he played guitar . Gilmour made everything sound right but again just opinion . Floyd at its best with all of them of coarse but still decent without him .

I agree that they're at their best together but w/o Waters, Pink Floyd is not much more than a pop rock band. The Gilmour-led Floyd had no punch with their music. It's a great sound because that's what Gilmour's always been exceptional at but there is no lyrical greatness to it. My point is really that at the point that Gilmour released AMLOR, the name of Floyd was selling the albums. TFC itself is not all that great musically but it sold because of the name, imo.

nah I think your probably right about all those points ... I can tolerate Floyd without him though . I don't think that goes both ways for me however . Waters in all his lyrical and even sometimes riff genius is not good enough without the magic of the Floyd sound behind him though and that I attribut mostly to Gilmour but even Wright . I mean Great Gig in the Sky is all Wright , most don't seem to know that either . They are all so important you know , I guess thats why I hate Waters left .

waters vocals on the last verse make this song for me. i love it all, but tht is the climax IMO. honestly, waters is a great singer, he may not have the pitch control tht other singers have, but he packs the emotion in it!

Roger lives in the US because he loves the low tax rates. Where else in the world can an artist build incredible wealth through huge royalties, real-estate investments, and minimal touring. Roger gives listeners the impression that he is a socialist but he wouldn't dare move to France where 50%+ of his wealth would be "donated" to the state via their high tax rates.

well they're standing behind a wall trying to reach the masses by asking for a lending hand to defeat a enemy, which i think is "the machine" or "the system" but in the end the song comes to a realization that the masses dont really care. so until ppl decide to be good people and lend a helping hand only then can we as united humans break the system.so i think that the wall symbolizes the i dont care attitude in this song.
