it had to do with censoreship and i think the song was originally supposed to be titled suicide. god my memory is foggy dude sorry lol. maybe some one with a less shitty memory can elaborate a bit more. i'm feeling lazy and don't wanna look it up but i'm sure you can google it or like i said wait on some one with a better memory to give a more detailed answer.

I think i can clear up the confusion about the title of the song.
Originally, as many of you have said, this song was titled suicide. However, the song came out VERY near the time of the 9/11 attacks. The record company along with most public radio stations thought that "suicide" was too provokative of a name considering the situation. When the band learned of
the 9/11 attacks, they were all together, eating chinese food. So, they decided to name the song "Chop Suey" instead.
