this is what a cover should be, changing the song in a way that makes it your own, not just redoing it note for note, otherwise whats the point

Just to be sure, in case you misunderstood, it's not a Hendrix composition as many think. Plus, I think Hendrix would enjoy it as he was not a guitar player but a musician using a guitar and looking for crossing boundaries in music. So I guess he certainly would enjoy this cover, also out of respect for these fine musicians.

You know if Rock and metal musicains got together and did a nice hard tribute to a classic jazz tune; It won't get any thumbs up and kudos. People who are into jazz music are very closed minded about other types of music, especially hard rock and metal. They would boo the shit out of it.

This show was directed and hosted and filled with jazz musicians, and the types of groups they had on the show is pretty versatile. I sort of agree, though. I'd say most of the really shitty jazz musicians are close minded.

A good #2 in the World Championships of weird versions of "Hey Joe". Toots & the other jazzguys sounds a bit lost in this enviroment. Would love tho hear NC &the Seeds beat the shit out of the tune. Anyway; -the weirdest version is still New Orleans pimpmeister Willy DeVille's: Keyword; -salsa.... Utterly sick, but he makes it work.

okay whoa, hold the phone for a second. I adore jazz music. its probably the greatest musical revolution that ever has taken place on this planet, and I also love a lot of hard rock bands. qotsa, rage, mars volta, muse, tool, and other groups. I know a lot of other jazzers who are much more into other stuff too. close minded? no more than any other legit musicians.

gotta disagree with you here... if anyone is a bit uncomfortable, it's nick!! I love this little jam, utterly satisfying, because it is such a weird juxtaposition of musicians.
