yea this is playing electric drums.
real drums dont "need" to have certain things to be a drum set. Crash/ride cymbals are sold as crashes that can double as rides and this game will help you play for real.

Drumming shall not be learnt without a distinguishing between crash and ride. The drums don't measure velocity. It discourages playing proper rudiments. The fact that people play Timepiece Phase II with flat single stroke rolls is quite an evidence. It tempts players not to time and measure beats entirely by themselves. A band drummer should time for his band, not in reverse. Frankly, if stating DM is not proper drumming is an insult, such a view also insults good band drummers.
