Vintage Movie Bloopers from Warner Brothers Studios

Uploaded by: digitalshark
Video Description:
"Breakdowns of 1936." Compilation of bloopers from Warner Bros, including scenes from classic (and not so classic) films including Edward G. Robinson, Pat O' Brien, Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney. This was originally broadcast almost twenty years ago during the long since defunct (but not forgotten) "Night Flight" television show on the USA cable channel. They used to run things you couldn't see anywhere else on TV at the time (or today for that matter), from videos by Frank Zappa to retro commercials for toothpaste to underground animated short films (such as "Jac Mac and Rad Boy Go"). As someone has pointed out, the porky pig "blooper" that you see cut in to places later in this clip differs from the famous clip most everyone has seen, and seems to have been taken from a work print (hence the X marks where the sound effects were laid in of the hammer.)

Although called "Breakdowns of 1936" at least one of the films featured here was made in 1938. This couldn't have been released due to the production code, though it probably was shown at many WB studio parties.

strange to hear them swear. it's funny except when they can't laugh at themselves. so much tension in those days. as if somebody was there with a watch saying "time is money! time is money!". ugh.

The opening credits say Breakdowns of 1936 (Warners put together annual gag reels of mistakes, blowups, etc.). However, several of the clips included are from 1938 or 1939 films. What's up with that?
As mentioned in the ... ( 1 week ago by digitalshark)
As mentioned in the description, this is from a television show called Night Flight something close to 20 years ago. I have no way of knowing how they put it together, and this clip is actually 2 separate times that they ran these bloopers (which included others I missed) and I managed to throw a tape in. I suspected this was not all from the same year.
Regarding the ... ( 19 hours ago by ArtJWest)
Regarding the tension: It would be usual for the studio head to sit through all the rushes the next day. An actor really wouldn't want to be seen to be holding up production by blowing take after take, especially if they weren't a major star.
