WOW what a band they were.....I saw Weather Report at Wolftrap, Virginia, in 1983 -- minus Jaco, as he'd just left. I saw Jaco a few weeks later at The Bayou in Georgetown, I sat at the front table 8 feet away from him...WOW....I saw Wayne Shorter a few years later, around 1988, in Blues Alley, Georgetown. I was again, at the front table, almost too close, as i could lift my arm and touch him....WOW what a musician. Their talent blasts through their music.

What makes this music soo good? Someone enlighten me? I am truly in the dark. I do love this music but why are we into it and what got us here? We are all from different backgrounds and sounds.

Good question there! I asked myself the same question many times.. Why is this music so good. I would say it's because this music isn't based on one tradition, one culture or one religion; it's free, it's melodic, it's music based on musical grounds.
Not for nothing this is called fusion, cause by combining all kinds of music you bring together al kinds of people, and that may just be the answer to the question..
WR knew how to make a nice cake out of many strange ingredients :)
