Partially from the Flamenco-style of playing. Davison took a trip to Spain once and was captivated by the Flamenco guitar players. Thats' where he came up with the idea of drumming his fingers on the guitar's body. But everything else still baffles me. This band is a fountain of creativity.

in truth, with practice the song is easier than it looks to play. however, to write something like this AND sing at the same time is incredible. just so you know i am definitely NOT hating on the band, they are my favorite band after all. The lyrics are amazing, really everything about the band astounds me.
