OK this is art so everyone has a right to interpret as they want but IMHO he rushes through the song, has awkward strumming, and plays an Am instead of an A ("news had just come over"). He has a good voice but doesn't do this song justice. Granted I grew up listening, playing and loving Bowie's original version. Peace.

it's not meant to be a copy placebo has taken the song, interpreted it in their own way, and then done it they've done it in a way that best suits their style. there's no point in covering a song if you're going to sing it exactly the same way as the original i don't mean to sound horrible
