I saw him perform this live. It was fantastic. He brought a girl up on stage to drink/smoke with him while he was singing, he'd stop and tell the story of this song and a story about a girl he met at a pub. He's amazing.

He's a better musician than he is an actor, but it's still really cool that he would even do this. Most musical artists couldn't even step to this level of storytelling. I love this song, it's one of my favorite by Damien Rice. It's kind of annoying though when people laugh and snicker at it. It's a very deep and troubled song. I don't feel like it's something that should be taken lightly. That's my opinion though. Love the song. Love the artist. Love what he's trying to do. Major props!

I actually got to see him at Radio City Music Hall. And towards the end he started climbing all of the stairs on the side of the stage. It was hysterical. But yeah, funny take on a really really sad song. He's amazing.
