How did this stop in the end? I completely agree to be honest, how much writers get paid is sick compared to the million dolalr salary that the actors often get, when they are doing equal work. I'm glad that the writers strike took place, as it shook the tv/film industry enough that they would seriously analyse the importance of writers.

I have to be honest, I don't really have any sympothy for the writers. When they write better movies and stop upping out Cr*P, them maybe I could feel for them but otherwise they just a bunch of white folks looking for a handout. I used to sell shoes, should I get 4 cents everytime a basketball player scores a point in some shoes I sold him? Rowlings wrote Harry Potter, should she get for cents every time I read it? This all seems rather rediculuse to me. Be happy you working.

FREELANCE MINIMUMS each script. 30min cable-12,000 60min cable 22,000 NETWORK 30min-21,500 ie: Ugly betty 60min 31,700 ie Law and order So lets see, average crew on L&O for one season(10 months of work MIN 12 hr days in all kinds of weather and conditons = $90-100,000 WRITER@ min rate- 4 episodes $126,800.00(maybe a month- two max of work)

Wow, Mr. Racist got to stir his ugly head up. How hard is selling shoes, maybe you should ask next tiime you go in to buy some and you will get an ear full. I dare say it is harder then writting an episode of Full House. I have seen High School plays written and directed by teenagers that were much better than what is on TV today. All the writers could have bee lawyers huh? I don't believe that and neither does anyone else. Writers should get payed but millionairs on strike is stupid.

Here is a challenge for you writers, write something so good that it will compel me to turn on my TV to watch something other than the News. Or try writing a TV show that mentions Catholicism without being COMPLETELY WRONG about it on every account. Try putting even one, just ONE well formed Latin Sentence into a script. But you know what I will take before all of that, if you stop putting Racist Stereotypes on TV constantly. I don't want to see that and shouldn't have to.

do you honestly think brainlessly pitching shoes is harder than writing an episode of full house? You have clearly underestimated the cleverness of writers and OVERestimated what it takes to be a lawyer. These days ANYBODY with enough resolve could take the bar, but not everyone has the wit and NATURAL talent and creative ability to be a writer. True, there is crap on the tube today, but even the CRAP is hard to write! Most people dont know how to write comedy because most people are BORING!
