And as far as my partner is concerned, he loves that almost anywhere he goes: Hawaii, Mexico, India, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Japan... he is considered to be "one of the locals". I envy him. When I travel, I stick out like a sore thumb. Everyone knows I'm "American" whatever that means and it's a pain in the butt.
