I like CM more than SX because CM seems to be more variety. SX is mostly fast neoclassical prog metal even though sometimes they slow it down, I like CMs style more

Yea, my favorite prog metal band, by far, is Evergrey though (Albums such as Solitude Dominance Tragedy, Recreation Day, The Inner Circle for instance). Not even mentioned here among prog bands, hmpf.. Ya dont know what prog metal's all about 'til you've heard those albums. Anyway, Circus Maximus are giants, brilliant musicans. Amazing.

Well, DT *used* to be good, but their latest albums are utter crap. Octavarium most of all. I'd add Pain of Salvation, Ayreon and Opeth to that list (Opeth is arguably prog/death, or "extreme" prog) I also like Pyramaze (I think of them as being prog/power, though some would argue they're not prog), Frameshift and Dreamscape. And I didn't really listen to Vanden Plas so much but I'm considering it since they have at least a few really good songs I know of.

Octavarium was amazing whats wrong with you!?! You expect every DT album to be a SFAM? Octavarium is the album that showed that DT could write more than just complex songs..sometimes short consise song writing is harder than a 20 minute song although the title track was jaw dropping
