guess i was lucky....grew up in san francisco and tom was a prof at uc santa cruz and guest lectured at sf state...so he showed up from time to time on local tv tom is a national treasure, and i would like to know when he is gonna get honored at the kennedy center

He was edgy then; he's still edgy now. The Smothers Brothers got kicked off the air in the 1960s for edginess. The culture is more conservative now. Nixon got ousted after 1/10 of what Bush has been up to. I think Kennedy Centre honours are unlikely. It's more likely that Reagan will be exhumed and charged with state-sponsored terrorism.

I guess you hope we get a cashless society. What do you want to use as currency instead of "rocks" ?? Bits and bytes, zeros and ones ? Money was "inveted" to make trading easier. Imagine you want to buy a fish for dinner but the fish dealer does not want your tomatoes, he has no need for them but he would need some new furniture. Now you gotta trade your tomatoes for a chair so you can trade the chair then for fish. This is a fucking metaphor if you didn't get the point.

Thank you, crazedkid103, for your comment. These videos are rare and genuine live video recordings of Lehrer and very few exists. I am so happy that people appreciate them, as is Tom Lehrer (I guess). Discussions posted under each video clip is a good thing. It is not necessary that people agree on "everything". As long as people doesn't say rude things about Lehrer (or me for posting), that's ok. :-)
