ricky produces amazing shows (the office is my favourite show - everything he's involved with is brilliant), however he seems like a whiny prat in this interview.
(have just watched the stephen fry episode of this - he has a wonderfully aesthetic outlook on life, whereas ricky is more 'average guy complaining about shit' material)

Stephen Fry isn't pretentious, he's totally genuine. Just because he's intelligent and uses words longer than a syllable doesn't mean he's pretentious.

He's highly pretentious. Just because you're intelligent doesn't mean you have to alienate and talk down to people, as we've seen Fry do all too often. Watch an interview with the likes of Richard Dawkins to see that you can be highly intelligent yet affable.

I agree it is subjective, but i don't think some people give their honest view out of a blind loyalty. I hate it when people believe their opinion is worth more than another, with comedy, music, sport or anything so i agree that it is subjective. However you can't ignore the blind loyalty some people show to certain individuals without considering things.

Despite the fact that Merton gives Gervais a bit of a beating towards the end of the interview, and although he set himself up for it, I can't believe that Gervais got the upper hand on Merton at 9:14.

I've always liked Ricky, but this show makes me wonder if he isn't a bit of a prick...? I agree it's irritating with kids in restaurants, or anywhere in public really, but if I were to put something in room 101 it would be people complaining about other people being late.
