"It should have been "restricted space" as in only 2 people involved in the fight" So in other words you agree with me that Bjj is better 1vs1. As for fighting 2-3 guys with weapon I would prefer running

not at all. Just that BJJ is very limited in a street fight.

Oh? But then tell me why Wc didnt went on to dominate the early nhb/UFC comps. Now we just talk 1vs1.

korv...kinda hard for a martial art to dominate a competition it is not in. To my knowledge WC has not entered any NHB fights other than the so called WC guy in the first UFC. I know with my branch of WC we were not allowed to enter into competitions or we would be barred from the council. The UFC/NHB fights are just one measuring stick for how effective an art is. There are other standards to determine how effective an art is.
Well thats the ... ( 1 week ago by korvstoppare)
Well thats the point it had a chanse to prove itself but instead it choose to do what you do know, hide behind exuses. If an art and its practitioner is going to brag about how good it is it need to step up to the plate. I guess that 1 time in extreme fighting was 1 time to much. Oh and btw it wasnt banned from any comps Boztepe was asked several times but if you dont want to compete you can always find an exuse. He could have gone to Pride to fight Rickson if he didnt want to fight in UFC.
The thing is that ... ( 1 week ago by sutmae1)
The thing is that there is no one most effective martial art for everyone. Everyone's different and different martial arts work for different people. Personally I'm MMA, but not that "style" MMA. I actually learn martial arts and mix them. My martial art is largely BJJ and Muay Thai, but I also have very strong Wing Tsun, Excrima, and Krav Maga elements. The "perfect" martial art is the one that you created for yourself. Wing Tsun has it's place, it's a lot better than some forms of Kung Fu
First, sounds like ... ( 1 week ago by sutmae1)
First, sounds like the "council" thing is internal, not related to the UFC. I know a guy studying Kempo who is forbidden to enter in any outside comps by his sensei. It's really stupid, but it's also very traditional. Second, WC on it's own probably couldn't win a fight. 90% of the time BJJ on it's own can't win a fight. That's why we mix matrial arts together. There are "complete" martial arts (Marine Core, MMA, Krav Maga) though Escrima appears to be the best. Still, even it is best when mixed

"The thing is that there is no one most effective martial art for everyone" I dont agree with that at all. If you want to train the best style you should train mma. Sure I can agree on that we are all different, for example some people are better strikers and some are better at grappling. But you need to know it all and mma is what nhb has evolved to.
Also thats not what ... ( 1 week ago by korvstoppare)
Also thats not what we are talking about here. Some guys are claiming that Bjj dosent work on the street, its only a sport they say. Then they keep going on about how good WC is on the street. And they even say that WC is better for 1vs1 on the street. If you have followed NHB since the early 90s you would know thats just Nonsense.
3 things. 1: I know ... ( 1 week ago by sutmae1)
3 things. 1: I know from experience that BJJ is useful on the street, WC is too, most martial arts are usefful to some extent. 2: NHB isn't a perfect guide. Many traditional fighters were forbidden to compete by "honour" or tradition. It's a good guide, but not perfect, nothing is perfect. and 3: MMA is no exception, it is not perfect. I've learned things from the Filipino martial arts that you cannot learn in MMA. Any time you choose a style, even MMA, you limit yourself.
to continue: you ... ( 1 week ago by sutmae1)
to continue: you may get nothing out of Escrima, but I personally love it. It flows well to me. The fact of the matter is everyone has the potential to learn a well rounded martial art, but not everyone can learn Muay Thai, or Taekwondo. Everyone has a different build and a different way of thinking, they need a martial art that suits their body and perspective, one that flows like water through a stream and isn't forced. but they should never limit themselves to one martial art.
"most martial arts ... ( 1 week ago by korvstoppare)
"most martial arts are usefful to some extent." Thats true regardles what you train it will help you. "NHB isn't a perfect guide" Well its as close as we come. "Many traditional fighters were forbidden to compete by "honour" or tradition" Sure they are, that way they never have to prove them self. "Any time you choose a style, even MMA, you limit yourself." MMA is a mix off alot of styles that been proven to work.

"I know from experience that BJJ is useful on the street, WC is too," Why do you reply with this to me? I know that Bjj works and i have never said that Wc or any other style dosent work. What I have done is to answer the guys here that try to make me belive that Bjj is only a sport and only works in a ring/cage. "Everyone has a different build and a different way of thinking" From my prev post. For example some people are better strikers and some are better at grappling

Exactly my man now ... ( 13 hours ago by FlawlessCock)
Exactly my man now you said something very smart. You see it has nothing to do with the art itself but the spirit of the person. Martial art is really nothing and should be considered simple and effective rather then showoff like Aikido or Taekwondo. It's the same with the concept of a little guy beating up a bigger muscular guy, it has nothing to do with your muscles nor your techniques. IT'S YOU! Now take a look at Bruce Lee and you'll get my drift.
Totally Agreed. I ... ( 13 hours ago by FlawlessCock)
Totally Agreed. I mean look at Bruce Lee. There's no wonder the guy had a thing for the excessive use of the forearms. That is why Wing Chun was so perfect for him. It gave him such strength and confidence that he could knock the shit out of anyone, even this wise-ass Emin. It's all in your heart and will. 20% Martial arts, 80% will.
