Richard Taylor, one of WETA's co-founders, is estatic about the chance to work on it. It's his dream project, and as I recall Peter Jackson, another co-creator, got his with King Kong, even after waiting several years.
'Clearence' and all isn't the problem, all the parties involved have 'okayed' it, it's just WETA doesn't have the time now with all it's resources being delved into Halo.

I on the other hand hope it turns out like the old trilogy. At that time Star Wars wasn't a thing for the 'geeks' and 'nerds' but for everyone, the entire world stopped, if only for a moment, to be agapped at the momumental Work George Lucas had created, and found a universal interest they all found they had in common. That, would be a dream come true, not only for me, but I'm sure the creator of Eva himself, Hideaki Anno.

Duuude, rule numero uno, never mess with a classic. That said, to each their own but I think a live action movie would be a great addition to such a wonderful series. NO need to redo the thing, at all.

I've been a fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion for a while now. I first watched the series 9 years ago. I've always wondered if it would be made into a movie. I'm impressed with the designs shown here since they've kept close to the original 'look' of the series. I really hope that if there will be an NGE movie (preferably movies)it will be done well and maintain plenty from the original series.

Yep. Go to IMDB's website and type in Evangelion. There will be a big list and click on Unnamed Evangelion Project (2009). If everything goes according to plan, it will be out next year! There will also be a GITS live action movie in 2011 directed by Steven Speilberg.

Yeah, IMDB says it has some preproduction work done but they haven't started anything yet. I just hope it goes well. If Peter Jackson ends up being director, that would be cool. I hope all goes well.

i love neon genesis evangelion. from what i see here i must say that the eva's are way too stylized, its just overkill. this goes for the character costumes *askua has A camel toe* as well. the setting is just fine. i hope the movie is going to be an epic tribute to this epic anime, or else.

its a good thing You didn't make eva or it would have been mediocre. you could have thought for a moment why neon genesis evangelion is hard to revive or even to make a sequel out of? because its perfect thats why. everything about it is perfect. do you think by adding more flanges and savage teeth will improve eva? throw in a camel toe and you have a real circus here. and you sir/ madame agreed to that proposal? Uhm, ok i think some of the confusion here came from the fact that, i didn't base my comment on other peoples comments or anything other than the video itself. So by me asking "why's Rei's hair white...etc" there wasn't a point to get, or anything like that. it was simply me asking why was her hair that specific color... And yes, it did that me this long to figure out that my comment was convieniantly placed right under yours... so i apologize.

I don't understand, if not the comment, where are you seeing Rei's hair as 'white'? In the drawings here, it's black, and in the series, it's blue, is there some picture you're not telling me about?
As why it needs to be white, it's because it's needs to look natrual, something white is while still allowing Rei to keep signifigant degree of her appearence's uniqueness.
