Vietnamese didnt learn from chinese but was influenced by dem, the chinese took over vietnam for 1000 yrs dats y vietnamese culture r so similar w/ the chinese.
its true dat vietnamese had used chinese characters but they did hav their own language b4 the chinese came. i think it called "nom" or something lik that
but lik i said the chinese took over Vietnam for 1000 yrs they made the vietnamese ppl to speak chinese n made them to forget about their culture.

I learned by the old folks that the Vietnam Empire is as old as the Chinese Empire. They Were NEVER the same. For example: the root language of Japan and Korea is Chinese, but not Vietnamese. Vietnam language is a unique language in all of Asia because it's its own language with Latin Alphabets given by the American & European.
