The man has serious talent, no? Maybe someday I'll meet him at a family function...doubt it, though. He's EXTREMELY introverted and shy....just like his wife. I have pics of me, her, and her sister J. playing when we were kids, pictures from visits my wife and I made...seems strange now...they're RICH, too.They deserve it, the wife and kids sacrificed a lot, lived in poverty while he tried to break into the business.He got onto a soundtrack and BAM, he's famous.

Who said anything 'bout a tv show? I'm not talking about Gray's Anatomy....and yeah, he had a cd and ok, you bought it. But the movie earned him $300,000 and the fame that came with it. Find THAT in wikipedia....And the "cabin" was a shed behind a house, with an extension cord for power...find THAT with Google...you won't...water under the bridge, now...

And I'm glad he did what he did. The whole world gets to listen to his music now, his family is taken care of, too. His stuff still kind of flies just under the radar, so he's like our little secret, no? I turned ALL my friends on to him, they are all huyooge fans now (rightfully so, too)...I buy his CD's instead of ripping them, can't say that about any other artist..best songwriter/singer in the US, IMHO, cannot say enough good things about his music.Wish his new stuff was more raw, though.

He is an amazing songwriter! It's the kind of artist that brings your faith back in humanity instead of all "sounds all the same" commercial pop music around. I wish him a long and prosperous career. I also have bought his CD instead of copying it. Also listen to "Lesson Learned", one of the best of his album.

A true 5 star song! Love the pedal steel guitar - awesome, great lyrics too. People in the UK can watch the entire show until 24 July 08 - on the iPlayer. I think it is the best hour of live music I have heard in a VERY long time. PS it is ok to be a fan of both Ray and Kurt Cobain. Liking one artist should not impact your appreciation of another, compare if you like but there is no need to slag artists off with so much venom.

I think he's best when he's live. I have two studio albums, and a live one, and that live one is by far his best work. He's doing a show at the Wiltern in LA on Oct. 30! I can't wait to see him!!
