Because there are about 100 other styles of music than techno. No thanks DS, I'd rather get an ipod touch. where I can get a guitar, piano, drums, pretty much everything i need. I'd be okay if the techno was okay but this shit sucks.

sure, but there are 100 other electronic styles you could create which arent techno.. which btw, i wouldnt cal this techno anyway. and FYI 'real' instruments on software sound awful. even this doesnt compare to a real hardware synthesiser.

i will have to agree with horace here .... I've been working with electronics for the past 7 years and "real" instrument software doesnt compare to the real instruments that really produce sounds ..... and FYI your name is oldschool you should remember DOLBY when he created his synthesizer, its not even categorized as "techno" cause he was trying to make the sounds of the real instruments in one machine thus he was making the grandfather of your ipod touch's software instrument so dont hate

I don't have an iPod touch, that's why I'm searching around asking so I know which is best to get. My name is oldschool cuz I like oldschool hiphop, which might explain my lack of taste in the music in the video. You're right about not labeling it "techno",not like Japanese and party boy stuff, I can get down with some techno tho, just not feeling this right here.

you blatantly dont know what youre on about. analogue is good, but you end up always low cutting it because of the massive bass muddying up your mix. so if your always doing that, why not just use a digital instgrument that will let you model almost the same sound, stay in tune, have built in effects and whole host of other shit. then just run it through a valve pre-amp. that said, id kill a baby for a tb303 ;)

yeah,you are right about the 303!tb of course.digital stuff sucks because it has an awful high freq.the colour of the sound(besides the bass) usualy suck bad.

bollocks man this was true 5 years ago, nowadays there aint much differance in soft and hardware. as for analogue vs digital, wel analogue are nice but i think an access virus wiould do well against any analogue synth, also a jp-8000 will whoop most analogue synths.

I don't get the whole hardware vs. software..analogue vs. digital argument. It's so lame. All these tools are useful and fun. I use hardware and software. Everything has its place. It's music. Everyone should be open minded about the tools of the trade.
