These were made with materials that they could get their hands on and were small enough to carry around in a big pocket. You can modify this design if you want to set it up so that it's tuneable too! | i am not sure about the wood cylinder thing. basically you are making an inductor, and ideally you would want a ferromagnetic material in there like steel or iron. you could use such a device as an op amp or a audio transformer but that would not be a real GI radio. |
