one of the best bands of all time no doubt, but the king is still Elvis :-). Not beceause his music is better, but because of the movement he created. Without Elvis, perhaps there wouldn't have been CCR. But yeah they made some of the best music ever created. He could be the king :-)

You wouldn't have heard CCR play it. It was released in 1975 on John Fogerty's eponymous solo album, 3 years after CCR split.

Well it wasn't so bad but I still think Quos version is better, its text is better, Quos music is better and Fogertys background singer almost sounded like they were singing a blues and that doesn't fit in a rock song. Well this is only what I think so plz don't hate me for that, ok?

Please stop all the crap about whose is the better version out of Fogerty and Quo. This song is about having a good time, so we shouldn't be arguing. John Fogerty is a hero of mine; he wrote the song, but because hardly anyone gave a toss about him in the mid 70s, this song would never have got to a world wide audience without Status Quo, who opened Live Aid with it.
I am sure that Fogerty is a hero to the Quo, but I bet Fogerty appreciates Quo bringing the song to a worldwide audience.

I never heard this song by Fogerty even though he wrote it. I always thought this was a Status Quo hit. Both versions are excellent.

both are legends. u cant dis any of them. wot makes status quo cool is coz their british. theres not alot of british bands out there compared to american bands. but come on!! it isnt fair! their country is like 1000 times bigger than ours. im nicking some of ur favourites!
