This is an edited 22 minute tape - plus pix - of an hour-long interview held today with Dick Pound, chairman of the World Anti-doping Authority based in Montreal. The interview was taped as part of a conference call between Pound and a bunch of journalists including me, Carlton Reid, editor of BikeBiz.com. Listen to hear Pound's views on Nazi frogmen, athletes in altitude tents, Floyd Landis, Tyler Hamilton, and the doping status of caffeine.

I've watched a bit of it. Yes, shame for Mr V. Now here's a stupid comment: I can't take the Vuelta seriously because that goddamn awful 'golden fleece'. When it's overcast the jersey is a muddy yellow, almost khaki. Yuk! Give me the bright yellow Maillot Jeune any day!

LoL You are right the color of the Maillot can't be taken seriously. By the way did u know the "owners" of LeTour de France tried 3 days ago to buy "La Vuelta". The deal didn't consolidate, but a strong marketing agreement came up. Next year will be a fun cycling season to watch. They should definetly wear yellow in any serious race.
P.S. Any news about Vasso ? (I hope he goes to Discovery )

Ivan Basso has already released statement saying he's expecting to continue his career with CSC, and that he will prove his innocence to the extent Bjarne Riis desires. However, in the brand new doping investigation titled Operation Athena, he has been implicated again, and his house has been searched by the investigation team.

I think you and the rest of Ivan Basso fans got our wish! He's riding in the Giro and Le Tour in 2007, albeit in DSC blue/white/silver color instead of CSC's red/white/black. I am actually incredibly happy Basso came to DSC, since I knew they were trying to get Basso to sign for the past three years, ever since he left Fassa.

French lab called Chatenay Malabry knew they were testing Floyd and when the results didn't come out positive they erased the file and redid the test to get a positive B sample. Every expert said the lab was pathetic in their techniques and were not using recognized standards. It is beyond ridiculous to think he would have used testosterone doing the race anyway as he is being tested daily. Lets stop torturing this guy!
