While Zep and Jimmy remain my favorites, this video shows why Alvin Lee ranks in my top 5 guitarists of all time. Page always said he didn't consider himself a great technical guitarist ... that emotion guided his playing. Same with Alvin, plus the guy can sing. A few wrong notes go unnoticed and uncared about because he performs with such passion. That's the essence of rock & roll, and why Clapton never quite did it for me. And why in Cream, Jack Bruce was the man. Rock on, Alvin.

You haven't seen this guy playing guitar with them 3 times if you're only 16. The band broke up in the seventies and reunited in the 80's, but Alvin Lee hasn't played with TYA since 1988 and they didn't reunite without him until 2004 (with Joe Gooch replacing Alvin)
