i saw bf5 on saturday night live for the first time, it was like 1998 maybe. they played brick and i thought "wow these guys are amazing". they totally got a sound that has never come close to being duplicated!

I didn't feel like reading all the posts, but whoever said this song is emo is correct. Its of course based on personal opinions rather than musical relation, but this is a story of fear and loss. it is the epitome of what an emo song has become. Just become Ben Folds doesn't play guitars and sing tongue-in-cheek lyrics, doesn't mean it can't be considered emo. The lyrical and chord progressions are a bit dark, and leads you to feel for the person spoken of in "Brick" Josh

snow patrol is not an "updated ben folds." I don't hate them but Ben Folds is one of the best songwriters of this generation, snow patrol's lyrics are not near the intellectual capacity of Ben Folds.
