Some teachers (I've never met them) make a difference. I know my mother makes a difference but she isn't a teacher. There are a lot of teachers (from the multitude of them I have met/spoken to) who really didn't know what they wanted to do or didn't like research/the job they trained for so became a teacher. They there are the morons/ the assholes.

As an aspiring high school English teacher, this guy is one of my role models along with two other teachers who have profoundly impacted the way that I view school teachers. There will always be unappreciative children who want to be anywhere but in class. But there will always be appreciative ones, too. And for them, for their future, I want to teach. Thank you for posting this.
