yeah, duane was awesome on that album. there is a funny story about the time they first met:
eric had just heard wilson pickett's version of "hey jude" and was floored by the lead break at the end. he had to find out who played that part. he finally tracked down duane and was back stage at one of the Allman shows. when duane looked over to the other side and saw clapton, he froze completely (being the clapton fan he was). Dickey apperently turned his back to avoid seeing clapton.
