The resolution for the debate will be as follows: "God is a manmade invention." Daniel Dennett will be arguing the affirmative, and Dinesh D'Souza the negative.

"Education should teach a world religion course".
Further there is not valid empirical evidence to sugest that any one religions holy text has been "revealed by god" if it were so then biblical "historians" would have presented it by now surely.
It is all speculative conjecture, and should be treated as such.
Any rational person can quickly realize that religions are human inventions often attribute supernatual causes to events that have a less mystic rational explianation.
And that I get the impresion that dennit did simply agreed the resolution "god is an invention" because denish rejected the latter.
I do not think it is weak, The jon frum religion for example. This is an excellent example that demonstrates how religions and there concepts of god are contrived.
Do you have a better argument than dennits for the resolution?
If so lets hear it.
If not, then why bother criticizing?
