I heard from a tv review if you take out all the speakers, and properly put them into a room the sound quality would equal the sound of system that costs $80,000. Sweet
I said Lexus USES ... ( 4 months ago by jakemiller5000)
I said Lexus USES many Toyota parts. Go sit in the new Landcruiser and then the LS460/600h. The electronic seat control buttons are the exact same on both cars. Let's not forget that Lexus has zero heritage and started out as rebadged Toyotas. For a luxury brand, this is embarrassing. Lexus is an upgraded Toyota, nothing more.
No they start with ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
No they start with LS400 not with a rebadged toyota, and yes they do have a heritage! kicking mercedes's BMW's and audi's ass for the last 18 years is quite a heritage.
about the seat buttons... man don't kid yourself even if that's true i don't look at it as a problem because it is a seat button! not an engine or a transmission if you know what i mean, on the other hand you do look at it as a problem because you have nothing against lexus so you started complaining about buttons!??.
Kicking BMW and ... ( 4 months ago by jakemiller5000)
Kicking BMW and Mercedes' ass? Lexus fanboys are some of the most retarded people out there. The only Lexus cars that have been kicking the asses of BMW and Benz are the ES and RX. The former is a glorified Camry with leather and an inflated price tag and the latter is a Toyota Harrier SUV. Those two are the best selling Lexus in the US. In all other classes Lexus trails in sales (except the LS). And heritage is about motorsport, innovation, global appeal and Lexus has NONE of those things.

Yeah right,, okay just watch this and be ready to see some early 90's ass kicking "watch?v=4N8hiUZL6gk".
How is this "ass ... ( 4 months ago by jakemiller5000)
How is this "ass kicking"? The Lexus was the NEWEST car in this group. It will win when it comes to technology. The Mercedes 420SE in that video is the W126 S class which was released in 1979. Its predecessor, the W116 was released in 1972 meaning that work on the W126 S class started most likely after 1972 or the very latest in the mid 1970s. Plus that LS400 is actually a Toyota Celsior. I've seen plenty of those in Japan when I was living there. Lexus = Toyota with leather: fact.

LS400 development ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
LS400 development started as a top secret project codenamed F1 in 1983 so it is not that far from the merc plus the successor of that W126 still not as refined as that LS400 : ) so it is a lose lose situation for mercedes, about toyota celsior...we know about it, you know why they sold LS400 under toyota badge in japan? simple because they never introduce lexus brand there until 2007/2008, the new LS460 now sold there as is no rebadge.
1972!? don't kid yourself.
Did you read what I ... ( 4 months ago by jakemiller5000)
Did you read what I wrote? The W126 S class began its life in the 1970s after the W116 was released. And you're saying the W140 S class wasn't refined? Don't kid yourself. The W140 S class was a very fine car. My uncle had a 500S/S500 and even though I prefer sporty cars this thing was a joy to drive. It was very comfortable, solid, had a superb interior and was very spacious and quiet. I don't see how this was a loose-loose situation for MB.
I'm sorry about ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
I'm sorry about 1972 thing, i thought you're saying development began in 1972, okay W140 is ofcourse an excellent (i think it's the peak of what mercedes can do) car but i don't think it is better than LS400 first it has pretty much the same engines you find in W126 three vavles per cylinder poor fuel economy and poor displacment/power ratios compared to LS400, about quietness.. LS400 is quieter and i'm talking from personal experiences.
The W140 didn't ... ( 4 months ago by jakemiller5000)
The W140 didn't have a single engine carry-over from the W126. The W126 used 2-valve engines while the W140 had modern 4-valve engines. The 3-valve engines came after the W140 and these had lower emissions. Nobody buying an S class in those days cared about fuel economy, and if they did they could get an S300 or S350 Turbodiesel. Lexus has overplayed this whole "we get good MPG" issue so often. Their hybrids are thirsty once out of an urban environment. It's all marketing.
M103 engine lasted ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
M103 engine lasted from 1986 to 1993
M117 from 1971 to 1991
M116 from 1971 to 1991
M119 from 1990 to 1999
M104 from 1990 to 1999
so please don't say there is no carry-overs.
about milage.. sure who can afford such cars probably won't care but it shows how well engineered the lexus is plus no one knows what could happend next with oil prices it could reach 200$ who knows plus less toxics for the air plus i'd like to see some EPA figures for LS600h please? then compare them to S600's.

No.. LS460 wants to be liked.. BTW you know what i like from germany? porsche 911s and a very very few BMWs, if you're in the market for a supercar and bought anything that isn't a porsche.. then you bought the wrong car : ) cheerz.
Well i am not in ... ( 4 months ago by mstt1010)
Well i am not in the market for supercafr if i was probably 911 but honestly the R8 seems really nice. I am in the market for a suv. probably the x6. I like the ls460 but i am more interested in the x6. lexus just doesn't makeany interesting suvs. btw I dont need the suv for a family cause I am single no wife no dogs no kids I just like the driving position. and where I live there is a domination of suvs here
The R8 is the only ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
The R8 is the only audi i "will" like perfectly if it prove itself as a reliable well-made car.. time will tell.. if it does.. that car is going to be very very intersting.
the X6 is very good looking.. will give u high driving posision and exellent handling but it lacks off-road capabilities and i'm not sure how reliable that car is, honestly i'm not into on-road SUVs like BMW Xseries, serious off-roaders is what i really like.
first of all thanks ... ( 4 months ago by mstt1010)
first of all thanks for replying. Yes I do know it lacks off road capabilities but i am not looking for an off road suv. I am driving on road 99% of the time. Yes bmws are not reliable and I've read many many troubles about the x5 so no doubt about it x6 is definitely a risky buy. btw what car do you own? I guess when you say you like serious off road suvs then its definitely nissan petrol and crusiers.

Close.. a toyota FJ cruiser.. wicked SUV, the best off-roader i've ever driven and the most refined (mechanically), 100,000,000,000,1/2 times better than it's main rival hummer H3, i will upload some footage when i manage to capture a good one, all vids i've already filmed are a bit boring, you don't wanna watch them, cheerz
OKE. I myself ... ( 4 months ago by mstt1010)
OKE. I myself seriously considered the FJ when it came out but slowly I forgot about it. After all I dont need a off road suv.
Yes it is an ... ( 4 months ago by janitor300)
Yes it is an attention-grabber at first for almost everyone, but although it's a serious offroader it handles very well mainly because of 4 things:
A: light 1948Kg u'll find mid sedans close to this #.
B: front double wishbone sus' wetch develops a negative camber when cornering(usually a live-axle setup or a basic independent sus' at best in most of other off-roaders).
C: not that much of ground clearance just the right amount.
D: overall mechanical refinments i stated previously.
There are so many ... ( 3 months ago by tnguyen318)
There are so many bias critique of japanese luxury cars. People hate seeing Lexus surpass old Mercedes and BMW. They are a thing of the past, expensive and all name but no game. Lexus truly makes the best luxury cars at a price 10k less than its competitors. Lexus luxury, performance, quality, reliability and technology is unmatched. Stop the hate and just accept it. Ignorant people like to waste money on cars that will cost even more to maintain. Lexus LS460 the best car out there period
