When an artist is suddenly thrown into these "professional" settings where so much is relying on the song to be a guaranteed hit or liked, it turns too commercial; it becomes politics and business... when music stays on the hobby level, people seem to care about it more, and actually bother to make a good piece of music, rather than marketbale trash.

Richard D James' music is not for some elite group of people. In fact, if James were to be in the presence of such people, he would probably make sure to leave their presence at once. The track was first credited as the Dice Man, on Warp's compilation album Artificial Intelligence in July of 1992, then was again released under Polygon Window on the cd, "Surfing on Sine Waves" (Warp's 7th release).

i think the only reason it's important to have the proper identification is so people who are looking for it can find it. fortunately, it already says POLYGON WINDOW & since the name of the song & this moniker is the same, i think in this case it's ok. if it was UNIVERSAL INDICATOR UNTITLED #4 &someone named it AFX UNTITLED #4 then that would just be ridiculous. it's probably ok to tag it AFX or RDJ or whatever you care to use, but probably not in the title. but like i said, it's all good here
