Too bad he's full of crap on the Reagan stuff. The fact is that the flat-out complimented the Gipper, multiple times with no caveats, to a newspaper that endorsed Bush in 2004. Hillary was 100% right to call him on it, just wrong to misquote him.

I listened to the entire interview and I wasn't left with the impression that he was praising them, or railling agaist them. In those clips you could see Obama as a professor, simply giving historical accounts. I'm a life-long southern democrat, and I completely agreed with his perspective and reasoning.

Try listening again. "Party of ideas" and "put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it...with the excesses of the 60's and 70's" among others are compliments when made with no caveats, like how Reagan invented the trillion dollar deficit.

Where did I say anything about Iraq, Aldin? But since you went there, none of the top three candidates are pure on the issue. Yeah, Obama spoke out against the war before it was "safe" to do so, but after he got to the senate he made Lieberman-style statements supporting the war and voted to continue it. Looks like Dennis Kucinich is the only one for you.

The country was ready for it, sadly enough. Why is the truth so damn difficult for you to digest. We had been so far to the left during that time that people welcomed a move towards the right. Unfortunately people took advantage of that. Now after years of lies and distortions, we hunger for transparency and honesty. A bit harder to take that too far.

No, the TRUTH is that Carter had all the charisma of a lead balloon and was hit with problems outside of his control, but was infinitely better than Reagan who was only good at race baiting and running up the deficit.

I said far to the left. That's not the same as Far Left, though I can see where you'd be easily confused. Carter had plenty of Charisma. Southern charm. I met him and shook his hand when i was very young at Peidmont Park in Atlanta Georgia. he had just started his presidential bid. Never forgot that great man.
