The Statement made by Natalie is no different then the ones you here on the street, and you don't see everyone threatening to kill your average joe. In fact, threatening to kill someone who for saying something you don't like is pure stupidity, I love this song, and all the people who are spewwing hate, stop wasting air, Your statements are discusting, and next time you play up on your free speach in a public area, I hope someone sends you a death threat so we are all on an even playing field.

Only evidence of death threats came out of their mouths, not the authorities they mention. More Cd sales hype. Natalie didn't make her statement on the street, she played to popular sentiment in London so they could increase sales and play a larger venue. Shepherd's Bush, where she farted, seats 2000. Go pubbing as a yank in London today. You'll be at risk of getting your ass handed to you even before you say Bush is a bastard, in part because of her comments.

Disagreeing with what someone says is not attacking their right to have the opinion, it is attacking the opinion itself. Unfortunately, the Media PR in support of the Dixie Chicks have tossed this difference aside. The Media, for the sake of profit, has spun the american dissent against the opinion expressed by Natalie Maines into an attack on her freedom of speech. As a result, public opinion has been squashed by media hype, which is a greater travesty than somebody tossing their cds.

I'm glad we live in the US where singers have the right to voice their opinions about politics and and gain (or lose, in the case of the DCs) popularity as people decide to agree or dissent. Thank goodness psychics like Nat exist who can (with a lot of money), frame the appearance of that dissent by mere citizens into an attack on her freedom of speech years later. It takes a brave girl to go the extra mile, making her own movie to record history "her way".
