In all my 46 years, I had never seen this! Thank you for posting as I am a huge Johnny Carson fan, along with the Smothers Brothers! How in the world did we find clips that we were dying to see before YouTube came along? I remember waiting for the Carson anniversary shows to tape them but so much could be found in the nightly shows! This is a time in late night that I really miss! Bless you for posting!

When I was around 11 or so I saw TV Guide with Johnny and Barbara Walters on the cover but I thought it was Tommy. I've never seen any other mention of the likeness, though. I also don't know how I missed seeing this when it aired, as I made sure not to miss his show during his last season (or so I thought). Great post!

Tommy Smothers spoke truth to power on the Emmys last night when receiving his award for best writing for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. That show was quite innovative and for its time controversial.
