Thanks, I did not ... ( 1 month ago by stdjohnnitro48a)
Thanks, I did not know that he was still alive. Since he does not perform anymore I just assumed he was gone. My adoped mom worked with a lot of the entertainers from the 40-50 and 60's. Some of those I truly miss-Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Jean Sablon, Matt Monroe, Frank Sanatra, Gene Kelly for a few and then of course the Cowboy Crooners, Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. I do wish we could hear them again performing.

I read that he still performed up to last year, and still toured overseas as well, but I'm not sure if he is still doing so this year.

background music ... ( 1 month ago by bloat3d)
background music poaches what was a decent rendition of the song...... it lacks the emotion and is overly sanitized. typical of the era this version was recorded in. Frank Tenaglia the Tenor did a much better job.

The background music adds a lot to it. Great rendition by a master of his craft (Andy Williams).

Hmmm, only one part ... ( 3 weeks ago by Waldo99)
Hmmm, only one part of your post was accurate. Andy Williams was born in Wall Lake, Iowa (not Canada). This song was written by Frederick Weatherly (not Burton Cummings) and Weatherly was from England. The only correct part you had was that Monty Hall was born in Winnipeg, Canada. Darn, you were way off!

Is Andy still singing in Branson? I wish he had a website or a fan club. He is my all time favorite next to Elvis.

Andy Williams ... ( 2 weeks ago by BesACB)
Andy Williams manages to be laid back and sentimental at the same time! It's smooth but a little lacking in passion. Check out Frank Tenaglia (somewhat operatic, but he catches the spirit) and of course the peerless Frank Patterson.
