For me it's Michael Manrings bass that ruins the tone of the song. Sounds like he's poorly improvising the whole time.

I would also blame michael manring. Once or twice during the song he plays some things that matches the guitars alright. but the rest of the time it's simply noices he's making. Don and Andy does a great job though :]

I would respectfully disagree with those who have said that Manring's playing ruins this song. I personally feel that Michael adds a very important textural counterpoint to the composition. I do, however, admit that I am very biased - I am a fretless electric bass guitarist, very inspired by Manring.
The piece, in it's entirety, is very moving.

It seems as though there are some individuals determined to express their feeling that Manring somehow "ruins" this piece. I would beg those of you to just accept this as one single interpretation of this song - one that includes the masterful playing of Michael Manring.
Consider this like dark and milk chocolate - much the same, just a twist on the flavor.

I have to agree with Shwalton, Manring adds a level of depth and complexity to this piece that I believe solidifies everything into one cohesive whole. Though I will admit my bias as a bassist for 8 years with heavy influences by Manring.
