I feel that this movie and ofcourse the novel by frank miller is one of the most accurate movies dealing with greek historic battles,at least compared to Troy and Alexander.Most of the quotes"fight in the shade","come and get them""2night we dine in hell"etc as well as the speech "Stranger, tell the Spartans that here we lie, obedient to their laws."The last was written by Simonides on an ancient monument at the site where Leonidas fell.

Ye, monsters are accurate, goat playing a float is accurate, portraying persians as total, sub-saharan black people is very accurate, the face of xerxes is also very accurate with dozens of piercings, that endless hole is accurate and real, oh ye also persian immortals wearing masks with japanese ninja swords is also accurate... if you actually believe anything more than 10% of this crap is "accurate", then you need to learn some history.

listen...there is only one thing that matters in a movie like this...and im just being honest,its not historical acuretcy...its not racial tolerence...what matters most in a movie like this are these:blood shed,huge war sceanes...epic one liners...great CG toped with a bunch of guys with guns and or spears and swords.so get over it man,this is the kinda stuff people wana watch when they go see a movie in theaters,and if you wana see a documentary go to the history musium.haha
