i kinda think its like a time thing, you see him getting ready for a date so he gets wine from himself, maybe that is where he actually works, at the end he it shows him as a bum but then again as the guy on a date. maybe it goes like this a normal guy > worker > he gets robbed > so he robs someone > gets caught > becomes a bum > but then as the song title "save tonight" he relives what happens. I HAVE NO IDEA LOL hard to explain from my perspective.

i think its more like anything can happen in life, you could get robbed, run over, etc, do you should relish every moment you have cuz you never know what tomorrow would bring. so its like save tonite = save the happy moments because tmr you could be gone.
plus also cuz he pays for the wine, and then it switches to the worker then to the driver, etc so its not like he's one person the whole time

i feel that this song is open for so much interpretation. it can be about, as the lyrics simply line, a guy getting ready for a date. i also agree with yana555yana, that its about relishing every moment. another perspective is that it is about jesus, and the last supper. i know its not 100% believable, but it does sort of fit. i feel that the video portrays this in a way, saying that essentially, god is with everyone, regardless of who they are or what they are doing. just a different look at it
